The time to create your dream is now!

Are you dreaming? I bet you are. We all have dreams of what we like to achieve in the future, how we want our lives to be and, of contributing in our own unique way.

Have you made a future time scale for your dreams? By that I mean something like this:

  • I will do that once my children are older.
  • I will do that when I have paid a bit more of the mortgage.
  • I will do that when I have more education.
  • I will do that when I am fully confident.
  • I will do that when I feel I have more time.
  • I will do that after I retire.
  • I will do that when I know I can make it perfect.
  • I will do that when I can find the time.

I think you can tell where I am heading. We all have know or heard of someone who had a dream but never got to live it due to illness or sometimes death. I reflect often on those people and I am determined to live my dreams now and not wait until it is too late.

Following my dreams may mean that I never get to purchase a home. Following my dreams may mean that I take a few chances. Following my dreams may mean stepping out of my comfort zone.

Or

Following my dreams may mean that I purchase the home of my dreams. Following my dreams may mean adventures I could never have imagined. Following my dreams may mean a lifetime of wonderment, learning and joy.

My point is that the game of life is unpredictable no matter how we decide to play. So I am not going to play by the rules. I am going to dream and, I am excited to see where those dreams take me.

How about you? Do you have a dream waiting for you?

Is it time for you to create your dream now?

What is holding you back?

Following your dreams may mean you will achieve everything you dream about.
The only question is will your dreams come true sooner? I think they will

    Hi Kama,

You are spot on about the time to create your dream is now! I have heard so many times “I wished I had travelled when I was younger, like you are doing with your family” !!

So very true – it is time to create your dream now.

    Cheers
    Lisa

I was just writing today about the excuses we use to NOT follow our dreams. Especially in these uncertain times it is crazy to not take advantage of all that life has to offer! So happy to see that you are encouraging others to do so. I just posted about an amazing spiritual experience I had once we followed our dream to move to Australia Here is the post: http://debbieducic.com/2011/when-the-dream-comes-alive-what-is-the-message/

    LOVE your work Kama!

I think so too Rita :)

  7. Kama says:

Thank you Lisa, yes we hear sentences like that a lot don’t we. Congratulations for following your Dreams.

  8. Kama says:

Loved your post Debbie! Yes often we make excuses for not following our dreams. Sometimes to reach our dreams we need to stretch our comfort zones and dare to leap.

  9. Time to jump. Always. It may not work to follow your dreams THAT second, but you can never forget to go after them. No excuses go for them! A great post.

  10. I think its so much easier for us to put off our dreams in life then working out a way to make them happen. You are completely right about people getting to the end of their life and regretting that they didn’t follow their dreams more. My poor father in law did exactly that, he worked until he was 65, bought a caravan and 4WD and was gone by the time he was 68. Very sad.

  11. I believe if we SEE BE AND DO, then our Dreams comes true. You can inspire others..keep it up. Great post~~http://postadaychallenge2011.com

  13. The game of life is unpredictable, so true! My Dad died aged 39, my son at one day old, my brother last year aged 50 while mowing the lawn…the passport he ordered never used! What are we waiting for, there is no perfect time. For us it was a paradigm shift in our thinking, and taking on mentors who saw possibilities we didn’t think we could achieve. Dream on!
    ciao lisa

    Hey Kama
Yes I was very fortunate to see this young – when I was 26 a darling friend died and I realised that it was up to me to create the life of my dreams… I’ve taken a good lot of detours, but the more I choose for me, the more I find the path opening up into a superhighway of amazingness… beautiful!!

Hey Kama :) I’ve just published a post on a similar thread to this – love your line of thinking:) Dreams are the trickiest of things, they’re the most delicate yet powerful things in our lives, and they’re what make life worth living yet they’re so easy to let go of and slump into a life half lived. I love dreams:) xn

  20. Kama says:

Thank you Neroli, I will visit your post and have a look :)

  21. Kama says:

Thank you for sharing Lisa, life is amazing when we follow our dreams isn’t even with the detours x

  22. Adam Bean says:

    Hey Kama

I guess for me dreaming was given negative connotations as a child. Stop day dreaming, grow up, we are constantly bombarded with by the school system and (Well meaning) parent’s. I am with you, I am not going to play by the rules any-more, and chase those dreams even harder than ever before.

    Cheers Beanie

  23. Kama says:

Beanie what a shame that we do that to our children. Chasing dreams is fun, time to chase more dreams.
